Frank Ocean Official.. "Acura Integurl"

BEHIND THE SCENES: DRE KNIGHT

The man behind the Frank Ocean record "Acura Integurl"... Allow BrowneyedQweens to introduce the infamous "Dre Knight"

Mr. Knight has produced for Talented acts like: Teairra Marie, Sizzla Kolonji, and legendary artist LL COOL J just to name a few. This awesome producer, songwriter, and composer has just recently teamed up with the latest , hottest sensational young artist by name of Frank Ocean...We caught up with him on what makes his magic spark...

What Made "Producing" music such a passion for you?

Producing music has been my love since the time I could remember. I was inspired initially by Prince when I was 7 years old after watching Purple Rain. Purple Rain was the first song that I taught myself on the piano and that started the dream of making my own songs that would connect to people. To have the opportunity to make an impact on my culture through song is inspiring in itself, but being the architect of that song is literally awesome. Through the ups and downs of the music industry, that reward makes it all worth it. There is literally no greater feeling in the world to me than someone saying... "I love that song".

what has to captivate you to want to produce a song for an artist?

Music is very intimate. It is very much built on vibe. It's important for me to be a fan of the artist. That doesn't mean that they have to be a superstar. They don't have to be at all. They just have to possess the talent and the knack for connecting with people. I remember working with Nicki Minaj before the stardom. I literally felt her desire to connect to people. She had a message that she wanted to convey and I wanted to be a part of that journey. I look at her now on television and I still see that desire. That's all I need, honestly.

Recently, you produced the hit record sensation "Acura Integurl" from Frank Ocean What brought about that connection?

Frank came to see me while I lived in Malibu, Ca. We have mutual friends and they thought it'd be a good idea for us to meet. They told me that Frank didn't just vibe with everyone, so I immediately assumed we would hit it off. lol. He was very cool... kinda quiet and we vibed out. The more music I played, the more he opened up. When I played the track for "Acura Integurl", he had ideas right away, but his first idea was for me to just play the piano and let him rock. Very organic... vibe filled. I am very much in favor of rocking with the aritst's vibe. The number one job for a music producer is to let the artist do what they do. After, they're done... clean it up and make it sound special. My plan was to get Frank back in after that first encounter and finish the song. I planned on making it this epic piece, etc. We never got the chance to get back up and he put the song out with a video off of the rough sketch we did that same day. It caught me completely by surprise and it was definitely NOT what I had in mind. Reflecting back, however... I wouldn't change a thing. I'm honored to be the producer of the song for his first video.

What are your future goals for the rest of this year alone? And what's should folks look out for next from the infamous Dre Knight?

My goals for the rest of the year are to continue to create music that connect to the people. I have been in the music industry for 5 years now and have been relatively under the radar. I think I've had enough of that. (smile). I have an extraordinary network of songwriters that I work with and I will continue to build with them. I have a couple artists that I am currently developing and a Sizzla Kalonji reggae album that I produced that is scheduled to be released this summer. I usually post tons of video on my personal facebook page of me working in the studio and the hackers usually find time to get into my email accounts and leak my songs on youtube. (smile). My closest friends have been telling me that I have next.... My goal is to have NOW...

I also like the french subtext added into the song its elegant and chic..Check It Out Folks and cop their album May 31

Has Gospel group Trin-i-tee 5:7 broken up?! Hold The Press!

Im inspired by young women in the gospel. I've grown up listening on many Sunday mornings to Legends like Shirley Casear(whom I've gotten to meet several times) Yolanda Adams, CeCe Winans, Kim Burrell and many more I can't seem to name all. Gospel music is so profund, powerful and inspiring. One gospel group that help me through my trying times of trying to remain a virgin and to keep my intergrity as a young woman (Preachers Kid) in church was Trin-i-tee 5:7. So I may be late, but just to bring to attention of all who dont know Trin-i-tee 5:7 is no longer a group but a duo?! Unbelievable lol Im starting to think anything that Matthew Knowles(Trin-i-tee 5:7 manager, Music World Gospel) attaches himself to, people begin to leave for whatever the reasonings (smh) According to sources though it is claimed that thrid member Adrian Anderson (in the group pic she is the one far left) left to pursue her beauty company(Halo Tu Beauty). This leaves the group as a duo with members Angel Taylor and Chanelle Haynes (the two up above). They are soon to debut their new album on May 31, which features the two young women as their self titled: Angel&Chanelle. Their singles "Heaven hear My Heart", "OVER&OVER" has been at #10 on the Billboard Gospel chart for sometime now and also they are heard everywhere daily on secular&gospel stations world wide. They also have been on a 25 cities promo tour nation wide.... Im looking forward to them, the duo and their success just sad to see Adrian go *sniffles*

BrowneyedQweens at Curly Girl Collective Expressions

Can we say BLACK is BEAUTIFUL!!! Lol the Curly Girl Collective was super fun super funky and totally super BLACK!!! I mean like riding the trains you see a pony-tail here and a afro puff here and there but today; ladies from all over showed how natural hair is the new in style nowadays. The moment I walked through the threshold I was like YESSS, this is for the Sistahs, this goes out to all the ladies never sporting a weave because my God given hair is the way to go!! The owners of "Ms. Jessie's" were definitely in the building doing hands on hair demonstration on the needs of a solid cut and great hair supplements. There were so many beautiful brown eyed qweens in the building Candace and I were in awww. Only because tv/different media outlets don't show how beautiful black really is.  From afro puffs to kinky twits to dred locks to flat twists ... Its simply natural hair at its finest! And let's not forget the borricas' we had in the building male and females rocking their waves, curls, and twits real nice. After going around asking "Why do you love your hair?" The most common answer's we received were because "God gave me this HAIR!" Which is always a plus. I am so looking forward to more CURLY GIRL COLLECTIVE events ... Big thank you to the owners of Ms. Jessie's, Hypnotic  Harmonie, Chelsea Modern 447 W18, and Heart and Soul .... Thank you thank you!!! Black truly is Beautiful and if you don't believe me the truth is in the pudding!

The Drone: Tyler, The Creator - interview

Controversial and Blunt, Tyler the Creator of Odd Future has some interesting things to say in this interview a month ago w/The Drone.... After listening and observing this interview I'm convinced.... He is the smartest Black Brutha in the industry so far. Tyler the Creator is just that a "Creator".... not only has he had labels fighting over him(Diddy Bad Boy, Jay-Z Roc Nation, Jimmy Iovine Interscope) only to sign a one year deal with XL Recordings. Tyler the Creator is unique, he has a mind that is ticking with creative genius every second. He made valid points in this interview bout the craze the media puts on him for his racy lyrics and videos. I agree that once something TABOO is done by a black male/female it is deem wrong or out of order. Tyler the Creator is ambitious, determined and of course rebellious musically. He's rebelliousness to the extent that he wants to be better than the next song or project he works on. He protrays himself achieving higher than most rappers and what most rappers do. None of his music has been the same, maybe dark but they all each have a different story line. Gruesome and violent..lol Tyler speaks from what I believe is typical white boy rage. You have these white kids grow up in the suburbs and they become the worst serial killers or fiend out crack heads or better yet do thangs like "Columbine"...and all Tyler the Creator is doing is showing audiences across the world the reality of what they try to "dish under the rug"... When I saw them perform live on Jimmy Fallon, I said to myself they are the hiphop version of SlipKnot. SlipKnot is a racy and at the time was very controversial rock band. SlipKnot wore hideous masks as part of their performances and did various thangs that most parents probably wouldnt imagine their children to see... I say Tyler the Creator of Odd Future is doing the same. However Odd Future with Tyler the Creator are a brighter generation in the hiphop game and noted as the most wanted group for music and producing..... Last to end this folks... Listen to the words before you judge a persons ideals. Tyler the Creator had a dream to be famous....he worked it off and its finally reciprocating the benefits of his intelligence. Cop dat album "Goblin"

HEIGHT MAGAZINE Launch/Mixer Event@ Nikki Beach Lounge NYC

Height Magazine: International Fashion&Lifestyle Magazine for Tall Women

Last night we had the pleasure of attending the Launch event of popular women's magazine "Height" Magazine. The launch was held at Beautiful Nikki Beach Lounge (NYC)... When we enter it was pretty quiet for many of the party hadn't even arrived, noted that on invite it said 6pm..lol however most industry/launch events never start on time. We sat at bar and had drinks of the happy hour session, I adore a Pinot Grigio (wine) as for my sister Joya she desired something sweet and strong lol... The DJ was slightly dull in his music selections for i thought music Nikki Beach House music had a better selection in music.... It was a generally nice crowd once 7:30pm came it definitely became crowded... A beautiful destination in the city Nikki Beach and beautiful tall women walkin round looking fabulous congrads on the magazines success... Up coming is their fashion Show this weekend

Beyoncé - Run The World (Girls)

Upon the other night, with high anticipation I had released what I thought was the official...till I found out that Beyonce had release the official version upon Wed. May 18 0n the show American Idol.... This is an anthem Im sure Beyonce picked to pop the Summer off with. Women across the world had mixed reviews on Bey's new single but like most who hear this daily, by radio waves we sing in unison. The beat or new outtake on what Beyonce betrays in her music is what you call "House Music" incorporated in London and most European nation nightlife. She, Beyonce claims shes creating a new version of her music but truthfully she taking a formula rite out of the London nightlife music and puttin her name on it... Its always smart to expand your mind on who/what did the music and origin. However above all this song ignites excellence and BrowneyedQweens stamp its approval.

To wear or not to wear .... Make- up isn't for everybody or is it?

"Don't be a drag just be a Queen" ... If I couldn't wear make up I WOULD SCREAM!! Picture that my world with out color! My ex boyfriend always use to ask me why I want to wear make-up. And any Diva would know the answer; Because "I WANT too". Silly guys, its really sweet when you say "You look pretty with out it" or "You don't even need it" ... Cosmetics are one of many addictions females have. Cosmetics shopping is a must do! It falls  in line with shopping for clothes and  accessories of course. The different shades an of eye shadows are never ending.... To me walking into Mac and Sephora and going H.A.M is like INSTANT happiness, lol major pick me up! Don't get it twisted tho Candace and I are Cover Girl and Maybelline feens lol . Some guys say hey if you gotta wear make-up you not all that, I like the natural look; and that's cool. But there are definitely a lot of guys that like when their lady and other women in general are all glam and dolled up when they need to be. Ladies if you have to do fake eye-lashes and the full sha'bang from foundation to blush lol, everyday on the regular that's violation to your faces. You really must let your skin breathe. Don't forget that you should be your own picture of prettiness!!! When you define beauty make sure that you know it starts with you! Love the skin that your in!
